Detection of arsenic salts by the qualitative Reinsch test. Targets include calcium arsenate, lead arsenate, and lead arsenate.
Specimen
One of the following:
Measurement of arsenic by inductively-coupled plasma/mass spectrometry. A tissue/feed prep fee will be added to tissue and feed specimens.
One or more of the following:
For birds, 0.3 mL EDTA whole blood is adequate.
Measurement of aspartate aminotransferase (AST) activity by automated analyzer.
0.5 mL serum or lithium heparin plasma
Measurement of avermectins, including abamectin, doramectin, eprinomectin, ivermectin, moxidectin and selamectin, by liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry.
Detection of Bacillus anthracis, the causative agent of anthrax, by culture.
Identification of a wide variety of bacterial pathogens in livestock species by aerobic and anaerobic culture.
Identification of acid-fast bacterial pathogens by acid fast stain / differential stain.
Identification of bacterial pathogens requiring an anaerobic environment by culture.
Classification of bacterial organism based on Gram stain characteristic.
Detection of lungworm larvae by the Baermann method.
