Reptile
Reptile Tests (79)
An accession fee of $8.00 is applied to each accession/case, not each specimen. An accession is defined as samples from the same animal / herd / flock, originating from a single animal owner, submitted for the same condition, collected at the same time. This allows clients to receive bulk testing of same species (from the same owner) under one accession. Poultry submissions requesting multiples tests (e.g., AI, Mg/Ms, culture, etc.) for a single flock are counted as one accession.
Turnaround times are estimates in business days and apply to individual tests. Actual reporting of test results depends on the full battery of tests requested, day of the week/time of day samples arrive at the testing laboratory, and the quantity/quality of samples submitted. Information on additional services and fees can be found here.
The tests and fee schedules are provided for use by TVMDL clients, including veterinarians and animal owners. Fees charged to animal owners by veterinarians may exceed test prices shown herein, reflecting the time, expertise, and expense necessary to collect the sample, ship it in an appropriate manner, interpret results, and provide treatment advice.

Panfungal PCR and Sequencing [Referral] | Identification of fungal organisms by PCR and sequencing. This PCR is recommended to complement identification of fungal organisms on histopathology and cytology. Cytology – Bone Marrow | Cytologic evaluation of bone marrow aspirates and microscopic evaluation by a clinical pathologist. Specimen: All of the following: bone marrow in EDTA, 1 mL peripheral blood in EDTA, air-dried slides. Submission of a fresh peripheral blood smear is also recommended. |
All | $48.50 | Details |
Azole Panel [Referral] | Determination of the antifungal susceptibility of pure isolates for fluconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole, and posaconazole. Specimen: Pure fungal isolate |
All | $205.00 | Details |
Parasite ID – Uncommon (Gross Identification) [Referral] | Identification of uncommon, rare, or unusual endoparasites or ectoparasites based on morphological characteristics. Specimen: Individual or multiple parasites. Presence of two or more different parasites may reflect on charges. |
All | $27.00 | Details |
Toxin Quantitation (GC/MS) | Follow up test for TVMDL’s toxin screens to provide quantitation for carbamates, cantharidin, ethylene glycol, glycolic acid, or metaldehyde. Measurement is performed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Specimen: One or more of the following:
