A minimum formalin to tissue ratio of 5:1 is recommended to ensure total fixation. A 10:1 ratio is ideal.

Sealed, leak-proof, wide mouth plastic container. Samples submitted in glass containers are not acceptable and will incur an additional processing charge.

Label all samples. Ship at ambient temperature.
Special Instructions
Provide a brief clinical history, including a description of necropsy findings for field necropsy cases. The number of tissues is determined by the number of organs/sites examined. Unfixed (fresh) tissue and tissue requiring decalcification may incur an additional charge and will take longer to process, potentially delaying turnaround time.Submitted fresh tissue is kept for 14 days from the date the postmortem animal/tissues are received. If additional tests are requested, requests must be made within this 14 day time period. Fixed tissue will be held for approximately 21 days.
