3-5 g feces

Sampling Requirements

Express air from the bag to maintain moistness. Eggs can hatch in fecal samples that are allowed to warm. Do not freeze samples. 

Collection Container

Sealed, leak-proof plastic bag with excess air expressed from the bag.

Packing Instructions

Label all samples. Ship overnight on cold packs. Do not freeze samples. 

Special Instructions

For horses, small ruminants, and antelope species, the Parasite & Ova Count (McMasters) fecal egg count is the preferred test for characterizing gastrointestinal parasite burdens. Requests for fecal flotation in these species will be reflexed to Parasite & Ova Count (McMasters) at no additional charge.
