Student Opportunities

TVMDL is a full service veterinary diagnostic lab headquartered in College Station, Texas, on the campus of Texas A&M University.  Our agency annually performs an average of 925,000 tests from clients in Texas, neighboring states, and around the world.  Samples are submitted from veterinarians, animal owners, producers, researchers, and regulatory officials. Our efforts protect the health of livestock, poultry, companion animals, exotics and zoo animals, equine and greyhound racing animals, and wildlife. Learn more about our agency’s mission and history.

TVMDL professionals work with specimens from almost all mammalian and avian species.  Staff work alongside some of the foremost veterinary diagnostic specialists in the world and have the opportunity to perform advanced diagnostic techniques as well as the tried and true classical test methods.

While our mission is focused on diagnostic testing, research and development is ongoing to ensure we are meeting industry demands. Other professionals publish journal articles, present their work at national meetings, and teach the next generation of veterinarians and diagnosticians. Opportunities for continuing education, career advancement, and professional development are offered to all employees.
