Panfungal PCR and Sequencing [Referral]

Description

Identification of fungal organisms by PCR and sequencing. This PCR is recommended to complement identification of fungal organisms on histopathology and cytology. The assay is not recommended when fungal organisms are not observed histologically, due to the potential of amplification of non specific contaminants.

This test is performed at the Molecular Fungal ID Lab in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida in Gainsville, FL. Prices listed for tests performed outside TVMDL may not include referral lab accession fees and are subject to change without notice. A processing and forwarding fee is added to all referral tests. Turnaround times vary depending on shipping time and the referral lab’s schedule.Submitting paraffin blocks only will result in an additional $43.50 processing fee ($14.50 each for preparation of H&E slide, special stain slide, and FFPE curls). 

Only one paraffin block is required. Each additional block will be assessed an additional $43.50 processing fee.
