Import/Export Testing

TVMDL performs import and export tests on a wide variety of species every week, for clients across Texas, the United States and internationally. TVMDL:

  • maintains sample import permits for international clients
  • can petition for additional permits if needed
  • runs most export/import tests in-house with a full complement of diagnostic disciplines
  • will source other needed tests from required or recommended outside labs

TVMDL employs two Import/Export Coordinators who serve as the point of contact for these cases. The Coordinator provides:

  • continuity in test turnaround and deadline monitoring
  • updates on potential timeline challenges
  • accurate assessments of timelines for multipart test regimens
  • coordination with outside labs when necessary

Import/Export coordinators at both full service laboratories can assist in dealing with the USDA export desk. In College Station, Dr. Terry Hensley is the import/export coordinator. He can be reached at 979.845.3414, toll free at 1.888.646.5623, or email clientservices@tvmdl.tamu.edu. In Canyon, Stephanie Merrell is the import/export coordinator; she can be reached at  806.651.7478, toll free at 1.888.646.5624, or email at smerrell@tvmdl.tamu.edu.
