• nasopharyngeal swab

• 1 mL semen
• 1-2 mL transtracheal wash (TTW)
• 1-2 mL bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL)
• 1 g fresh or frozen lung or trachea

One or more of the following: 

• nasopharyngeal swab
• 0.5 mL bronchoalveolar lavage
• 0.5 mL transtracheal wash
• 0.5 – 1 g fresh trachea or lung

One or more of the following: 

• 1-2 mL semen
• 1-2 mL EDTA whole blood
• 1 g fresh tissue (spleen, liver, lung, lymph nodes)

One or more of the following: 

• nasopharyngeal swab
• nasal swab
• 1-2 mL transtracheal wash
