Special Instructions

This test is performed at the Kansas State University Rabies Laboratory in Manhattan, KS. Prices listed for tests performed outside TVMDL may not include referral lab accession fees and are subject to change without notice. A processing and shipping fee is added to all referral tests. Turnaround times vary depending on shipping time and the referral lab’s schedule.

Rabies screen and titer tests listed are performed by the RFFIT method. The FAVN test is required by many rabies-free countries or regions in order for dogs and cats to qualify for a reduced quarantine period prior to entry. The FAVN test has a different price than the RFFIT and export paperwork requires a veterinarian’s signature. If you require FAVN testing for export purposes, send the sample directly to the Kansas State University Rabies Laboratory for the most expedient results.
