Pregnancy Specific Binding Protein – Ruminants (ELISA)

Description

Measurement of pregnancy specific binding protein (PSBP) by ELISA. Results aid in confirmation of pregnancy in ruminants. This test is validated for cattle, small ruminants, bison, and buffalo. PSBP is produced after 28 days gestation in cattle, after 30 days of gestation in small ruminants, and after 40 days of gestation in buffalo/bison.

Collection Container

Remove from red cells and place sample in an additive free transport tube.

Packing Instructions

Label all samples. Ship overnight on cold packs.

Special Instructions

The time required to complete testing of 50 or more samples may take longer than the posted turnaround time. Samples will be processed as quickly as possible.

Samples must be received in the testing lab / location by 5:00 p.m. for next day results, otherwise samples will be held until the next scheduled test day.

Testing is performed in Canyon’s Serology Section and in College Station’s Clinical Pathology Section.
