PCR for Antigen Receptor Rearrangement – Fixed Tissue [Referral]

Description

Differentiation of a monoclonal/oligoclonal or neoplastic lymphoid proliferation from a reactive and polyclonal or pseudoclonal proliferation by PCR.  This assay is recommended for fixed tissue only; for fluid samples see TVMDL referral test #8022, PCR for Antigen Receptor Rearrangement – Cytology Specimen [Referral].

Specimen in 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF)

Sampling Requirements

A minimum formalin to tissue ratio of 5:1 is recommended to ensure total fixation. A 10:1 ratio is ideal.

Collection Container

Sealed, leak-proof, wide mouth plastic container. Samples submitted in glass containers are not acceptable and will incur an additional processing charge.

Packing Instructions

Label all samples. Ship at ambient temperature.

This test is performed at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, NC. Prices listed for tests performed outside TVMDL may not include referral lab accession fees and are subject to change without notice. A processing and forwarding fee is added to all referral tests.
