1 mL fasting serum

Sampling Requirements

8-12 hour fasted sample is recommended for non-diabetic animals and a 6 hour fasted sample for diabetic patients. Avoid lipemia and hemolysis.

Collection Container

Remove from red cells and place sample in an additive free transport tube.

Packing Instructions

Label all samples. Ship overnight on cold packs.

This test is performed at the Gastrointestinal Laboratory (GI Lab) at the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) in College Station, TX.
