Nitrates – Fluids (Colorimetric)

One or more of the following: 

• 1 mL ocular fluid
• entire eye ball
• 1 mL urine
• 1 mL serum
• 20 mL water

Fresh (6 hours postmortem) ocular fluid or eyeball samples provide the best chances of detecting nitrates and/or nitrites.

Glass or plastic tube with no anticoagulant additives.

Label all samples. Ship overnight on cold packs.
