Clostridium spp. (FA)

Detection of 5 histotoxic clostridial species by the fluorescent antibody method. 

Targets include chauvoei, novyi/hemolyticum, sordellii, and septicum.

Fresh or fixed tissue

Sampling Requirements

Affected skeletal or cardiac muscle and liver are the preferred samples. Tissue should be aseptically collected. Do not add saline or broth to fresh tissue samples.  Submitting tissues in formalin will result in increased turnaround time and $13.50 charge to prepare tissue for testing.
