Jordan Brod joined TVMDL in May 1999 and served as TVMDL’s agency operations manager since October 2010. In 2021, he was promoted to the agency’s operations program director. He is responsible for facility operations of all TVMDL locations, including maintenance, construction, and renovation. He is a member of the laboratory environmental, health and safety committee, and provides supervision to TVMDL’s safety, biosafety and biosecurity programs. In 2005, Mr. Brod joined the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) and continues active membership. He currently serves on the TVMDL Quality Assurance and the Quality System Management Review committees and co-chaired the TVMDL Employee Advisory Council in 2009 and 2010.
Mr. Brod is a graduate of the Texas A&M AgriLife Advanced Leadership Program, cohort II; and has participated in various leadership programs, including Texas A&M AgriLife Emerging Leaders, TAMU Employee & Organizational Development Group Leadership Forum and TVMDL Supervisors Program. He has received several TVMDL awards including the 2009 Director’s Excellence Award, the 2005 and 2007 Director’s Service Awards, and was named Employee of the Year in 2000 and 2006.
Mr. Brod is a 2000 graduate of Texas A&M University with a BS in animal science. Prior to his current position, Mr. Brod advanced through the Histopathology and Quality Assurance Sections of TVMDL, moving from laboratory technician to manager; serving in these various roles from 1999 to 2010. Jordan and his wife, Christie, reside in College Station with their two children.
