The Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL) annually presents the Director’s Excellence Award to individuals who embody the agency’s mission. Each year, TVMDL employees nominate peers they believe exemplify excellence through testing services, quality assurance, technological advances, and overall dedication to TVMDL.
TVMDL is pleased to announce Mallory Pfeifer as a 2020 recipient of the Director’s Excellence Award in the administrative category.
Pfeifer joined TVMDL in 2017 and serves as the agency’s communications specialist. She is tasked with managing the agency’s social media accounts, website, trade show presence, and other avenues of client communication.
Since joining TVMDL, Pfeifer has developed several new marketing materials for the agency. Last year, Pfeifer completed a realistic job preview video used for employee recruitment, an agency overview video, a virtual tour, and a video highlighting TVMDL staff and their career paths for Hispanic Heritage Month.
In addition to video production, Pfeifer was also instrumental in managing the agency’s media presence during the COVID-19 pandemic. TVMDL was actively involved in responding to the pandemic by donating supplies, serving as subject matter experts for media interviews, and performing COVID-19 testing. During this time, Pfeifer worked alongside other communications professionals to extend the reach of each story and ensure every article and media mention appropriately represented TVMDL.
Most recently, Pfeifer executed the marketing, communications, and branding pieces for the Amarillo laboratory relocation project. She developed print and online content to ensure clients were aware of the move well in advance. In Canyon, Pfeifer handled the creative and logistical duties of branding the new laboratory.
In addition to marketing and communications duties, Pfeifer has become an integral part of the agency’s outreach efforts. She has taken the creative lead of the agency’s visitor experiences and tailors each item for the appropriate audience, whether that be veterinarians or school children.
“I don’t know how many more hats we could ask Mallory to wear,” Stacy Morris, assistant agency director, said. “I’m very proud to tell colleagues we have a one-woman communications shop in Mallory Pfeifer. Regardless of the task, she works with tenacity, passion, creativity, positivity, curiosity, and commitment.”
Please join TVMDL in congratulating this year’s Director’s Excellence Award recipients.
