The Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL) is pleased to announce the addition of Canine distemper virus neutralization (VN) test.
Canine distemper virus (CDV) is a highly contagious pathogen that causes systemic disease in dogs worldwide. Contrary to its name, several other species are susceptible to the disease in addition to those in the Canidae family.
Virus neutralization is considered the gold standard method for measuring antibody titer against CDV. TVMDL’s new assay provides an endpoint titer result of neutralizing antibodies to CDV across all susceptible animal species.
Clients also have the option to request CDV VN in a panel with Canine parvovirus hemagglutination inhibition (HI) test.
