Blackland Income Growth organization visits TVMDL

October 25, 2021 by Mallory Pfeifer

Recently, the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL) hosted the Blackland Growth Income (BIG) organization at the agency’s College Station laboratory. BIG is an open organization that focuses on agricultural education and advocacy, primarily in the Blackland Prairie region of Texas. Each year members travel across Texas to view numerous types of agricultural operations, in addition to attending a yearly conference.

While at TVMDL, members listened to an agency overview from Assistant Agency Director Dr. Terry Hensley. Members also toured each of the laboratory’s testing sections where they were given an overview of each section’s primary testing services by TVMDL Veterinary Diagnostician Dr. Guy Sheppard and viewed commonly submitted samples and received an overview of TVMDL’s toxicology services from Toxicologist Dr. Cat Barr.

For more information about visiting TVMDL, visit tvmdl.tamu.edu or call one of the agency’s full service laboratories in College Station or Canyon.
