Matthews and Finley earn board-certification through American College of Veterinary Pathologists

Morgan Matthews, DVM, DACVP and Abigail Finley, PhD, DACVP, both pathologists at the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory’s (TVMDL) Canyon laboratory recently earned board-certifications through the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (DACVP).

Since joining the agency in 2020, Matthews has become an integral part of the Canyon laboratory’s pathology team. During her tenure, she has worked on several complex cases and represented the agency through national media interviews. She is 2010 graduated of North Carolina State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in zoology. She continued her education at North Carolina State University and earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Following graduation, Matthews completed an anatomic pathology residency at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.

Finley joined the Canyon laboratory in September. She holds a dual-appointment between TVMDL and the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biological Sciences Veterinary Education, Research, and Outreach (VERO) program. Finley earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Ithaca College in 2013. In 2017, she earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ontario Veterinary College. Throughout her academic career she gained a wealth of experience in the realms of pathology, pathobiology, and entomology.
