The Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL) has retired Cholinesterase (Kinetic pH/Kinetic Colorimetric). Due to the availability of safer pest control products, organophosphate and carbamate pesticide intoxication has become less common. This has led to a significant decrease in the number of requests TVMDL receives for this test.
TVMDL offers postmortem testing for pesticides and carbamates. For antemortem testing, TVMDL recommends clients submit samples to the Pennsylvania Animal Diagnostic Lab System (PADLS).
