Edwards contributes to literature over Chagas disease in government working dogs

TVMDL Anatomic Pathology Assistant Section Head Erin Edwards, DVM, MS, DACVP  recently co-authored a publication on Chagas disease in government working dogs. This article, titled “Fatal Chagas myocarditis in government working dogs in the southern United States: Cross-reactivity and differential diagnoses in five cases across six months,” was published in the Veterinary Parasitology: Regional Studies and Reports journal and was a collaboration with Dr. Sarah Hamer’s lab at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. In this article, the authors discuss antemortem diagnostics and postmortem pathology of Trypanosoma cruzi infection in five working dogs.
