The Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL) annually presents the Director’s Excellence Award to individuals who embody the agency’s mission. Each year, TVMDL employees nominate peers they believe exemplify excellence through testing services, quality assurance, technological advances, and overall dedication to TVMDL.
TVMDL is pleased to announce Josué Díaz-Delgado, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVP as a 2020 recipient of the Director’s Excellence Award in the professional category.
Dr. Delgado joined the agency in 2019 as an anatomic pathologist. Since joining TVMDL, he has become an integral part of his section. Dr. Delgado works diligently to complete pathology reports as quickly and efficiently as possible. Because of this attentiveness, he has established and nurtured relationships with numerous clients.
Outside his regular duties, Dr. Delgado actively encourages his colleagues to write and submit manuscripts for publication. During his tenure, he has authored or co-authored 43 manuscripts, many of which he submitted with other TVMDL employees.
Dr. Delgado’s reach and enthusiasm stretches far beyond the agency. In addition to several collaborative projects with other laboratories, researchers, and agencies, Dr. Delgado is involved in educating resident and graduate students.
Recently, Dr. Delgado was named an adjunct assistant professor at Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. There, he serves in the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology.
“Despite his many contributions, accomplishments, abilities, and future promise, Dr. Delgado remains very humble,” Anatomic Pathology Section Head Gabriel Gomez, DVM, PhD, DACVP, said. “Dr. Delgado is a very productive, respectful, knowledgeable, independent, experienced pathologist with a positive attitude. He is an excellent team player with many great ideas.”
Please join TVMDL in congratulating this year’s Director’s Excellence Award recipients.
