The Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL) has updated a panel that detects antibodies to Brucella canis, the causative agent to canine brucellosis. Previously, TVMDL’s B. canis panel was performed using an indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA) and tube agglutination test (TAT).
The updated panel will still be performed using IFA but will now also include testing using rapid slide agglutination testing (RSAT). Testing can now be performed in one to two business days.
Starting November 25, TVMDL will retire B. canis (IFA & TAT) and offer the updated panel, B. canis (IFA & RSAT).
Panel: B. canis (IFA & RSAT)
Test Code: 1557
Price: $46
Turnaround Time: This panel is performed Monday through Friday at the College Station laboratory with results in one to two business days.
