Rice joins College Station laboratory as veterinary pathologist

On September 1, Laura Rice, DVM, MS, DACVP joined the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory’s (TVMDL) College Station laboratory as a veterinary pathologist.

Dr. Laura Rice

Dr. Rice graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree, triple majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, and zoology. After graduation, she went on to earn a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2013 and a master’s degree from Texas A&M University in 2018. Dr. Rice is also a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.

Over the course of her academic career, Dr. Rice completed several externships at various clinics in California and Wisconsin. Following graduation, she gained several years of additional clinical experience.

Dr. Rice comes to TVMDL from the North Dakota State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory where she served as a veterinary pathologist.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Rice to TVMDL’s team of pathologists,” Gabriel Gomez, DVM, PhD, Histopathology Section Head said. “She brings a wealth of experience and fresh insight to our agency. Dr. Rice’s expertise will allow us to further provide exceptional service to our clients.”
