In accordance with Texas Education Code § 51.218, Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory has established an emergency alert system (EAS) for agency personnel. College Station employees/location will utilize the Texas A&M University Code Maroon EAS; Canyon, Center, and Gonzales (located outside the Bryan/College Station Area) will develop internal communication channels through the use of email notifications.
College Station Employees
In accordance with Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory Procedure 34.07.99.V0.01, agency personnel located at College Station will utilize the Texas A&M University Code Maroon EAS. Code Maroon employs multiple notification methods. Employees may manage their notification preferences by visiting the Code Maroon Web site, or while completing the annually required online training course.

Canyon, Center, Gonzales Employees
The current TVMDL organization chart, with its embedded supervisory chains, will serve as a sequential communication plan (“calling tree”). All personnel with supervisory responsibilities are required to prepare for all-hours contact to their subordinates. Likewise, all personnel are required to prepare for all-hours contact with their supervisor. All Executive Committee members will have all-hours contact information for each other. Redundancy of direct (e.g., phone, e-mail) and collective (e.g., TVMDL website, TVMDL Facebook page) communications will be prepared.
TVMDL Procedure
Procedures for TVMDL have been developed to ensure compliance with all applicable Texas State Statutes and The Texas A&M University System policies and regulations, as well as to establish formal procedures and guidelines related to emergency management.
