Collection Container | Serum: Collect blood in appropriate vacutainer tube. Centrifuge to separate serum from the clot/cells. Transfer serum to leakproof tube. Refrigerate of freeze until shipment. Protect sample from prolonged exposure to light.CSF: Aseptically collect CSF. A clean tap is recommended as test results could be altered by blood cell contamination. Transfer CSF into a leakproof tube. Refrigerate sample until shipment. |
Packing Instructions | Label all samples with unique identifiers. For multiple samples, number tubes consecutively using a permanent marker or adhesive label. Place the tubes in consecutive numerical order in cardboard boxes designated for tubes. Do not submit loose in bags. Include a list of sample names/numbers or the Excel specimen import spreadsheet with submittal form. |
