Measurement of the percent bone marrow fat to assess the nutritional status of an individual animal. Recommended for diagnosis of malnutrition / starvation.
Detection of 4 pathogens known to infect bovine; includes bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV), bovine leukemia virus (BLV), infectious bovine rhinotracheitis/bovine herpesvirus-1 (IBR/ BHV-1), and bluetongue virus (BTV), all by real time PCR.
Testing for this combination of pathogens is often useful in fulfilling certain export requirements.
Specimen
One or more of the following:
1-2 mL semen
1-2 mL EDTA whole blood
1 g fresh tissue (spleen, liver, lung, lymph nodes)
Nasopharyngeal swabs, 1-2 mL transtracheal wash, 1-2 mL bronchoalveolar lavage, and respiratory tissues such as 1.0 g of fresh or frozen lung or trachea.
