About this Test
Detection of antibodies to equine infectious anemia (EIA) virus by agar gel immunodiffusion.
Specimen
2 mL serum
Detection of antibodies to equine infectious anemia (EIA) virus by ELISA.
Detection of antibodies to equine influenza virus subtypes A1, A2, AK, and KY by hemagglutination inhibition.
1 mL serum
Referral tests are not performed at TVMDL; a processing and shipping fee will apply.
Detection of equine parvovirus by PCR.
One of the following:
Measurement of progesterone by chemiluminescence and estrone sulfate by radioimmunoassay to aid in the diagnosis of pregnancy in the mare.
1.0 mL serum
Detection of equine rhinitis A virus by real time PCR.
One or more of the following:
Measurement of estrone sulfate by radioimmunoassay.
For pregnancy detection in horses, estrone sulfate is most reliable after 60-90 days of gestation. However, concentrations may decrease a few weeks before parturition.
0.5 mL serum or EDTA plasma
Detection of fecal occult blood by the stool Guaiac test.
1 g feces
Measurement of fibrinogen concentration by heat precipitation.
0.5 mL EDTA whole blood
