  • Histoplasma capsulatum (CF)

Detection of antibodies to Histoplasma capsulatum, the causative agent of histoplasmosis, by complement fixation. Starting dilution is 1:8; titer performed to endpoint using 2-fold dilutions (1:8, 1:16, 1:32, etc.).

  • Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (CF) [Referral]

Referral tests are not performed at TVMDL; a processing and shipping fee will apply. Detection of antibodies to Mycobacterium avium ssp. paratuberculosis, the causative agent of Johne’s Disease, by complement fixation.

  • Chlamydia psittaci (CF) [Referral]

Referral tests are not performed at TVMDL; a processing and shipping fee will apply. Detection of antibodies to Chlamydophilia psittaci/abortus (enzootic ovine abortion) by complement fixation.

  • Pregnancy Specific Binding Protein – Ruminants (ELISA)

Measurement of pregnancy specific binding protein (PSBP) by ELISA. Results aid in confirmation of pregnancy in ruminants.  This test is validated for cattle, small ruminants, bison, and buffalo. PSBP is produced after 28 days gestation in cattle, after 30 days of gestation in small ruminants, and after 40 days of gestation in buffalo/bison.
