Erin Edwards, DVM, MS, DACVP, veterinary pathologist in College Station, co-authored an article that was published in the July issue of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA). This article describes a case report of a third eyelid follicular choristoma in an eclectus parrot. The patient had persistent blepharospasm and during previous examination a veterinarian had plucked an ectopic feather from the third eyelid. Blepharospasm later returned and the mass was removed and diagnosed via histopathology. Dr. Edwards saw this case during her residency tenure at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
