On October 29, Melanie Landis, DVM, MBA joined the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory’s (TVMDL) College Station laboratory. Dr. Landis will serve as the agency’s microbiology veterinary diagnostician.
Dr. Landis comes to TVMDL from the Animal Welfare Office within the Division of Research at Texas A&M University. While there, she served as the Animal Welfare Office liaison. She brings a wealth of experience in the areas of research and compliance protocols.
Prior to her tenure at the Animal Welfare Office, Dr. Landis served in various capacities of academia. Over the course of her academic career, Dr. Landis served as an associate professor at Lone Star College, a senior lecturer in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University, and most recently, the director of the Veterinary Technology Program at Blinn College. Throughout her appointments, Dr. Landis taught several courses over veterinary nutrition, surgical methods, clinic management as well as other subjects.
In addition to her teaching experience, Dr. Landis also brings to TVMDL 15 years of clinic experience.
