On November 10, Veterinary Diagnostician Dr. Jessie Monday and Veterinary Pathologist Dr. Will Sims from TVMDL Amarillo hosted a session as part of the High Plains Veterinary Medical Association’s (HPVMA) Large Animal Meeting. Their presentation focused on TVMDL’s various tele-medicine components, as well as others, that clients can use to assist in a timely and accurate diagnosis. As an additional aspect to their presentation, Dr. Monday and Dr. Sims hosted a two-way video conference with Friona Industries’ Veterinarian Dr. Tom Portillo as he performed a field necropsy. This portion of the presentation allowed Dr. Monday and Dr. Sims to provide real-time consultation on Dr. Portillo’s necropsy findings.
The HPVMA’s Large Animal Meeting also offered continuous education on a variety of other subjects such as equine nutrition, Bovine Respiratory Disease, and keys to effective communication. TVMDL professionals are available to speak on a variety of topics. Visit the TVMDL Speaker’s Bureau at tvmdl.tamu.edu to view the professionals able to speak on the topic of your interest.
