On November 12, Sydney Rosario joined the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory’s (TVMDL) College Station laboratory. She will serve as the agency’s poultry programs administrator.
Rosario earned a bachelor’s degree in poultry science from Texas A&M University in 2016. After graduation, she started an internship with Aviagen in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Upon completion of her internship, she started her career with Miller Poultry in Goshen, Indiana as a broiler technician.
Rosario quickly progressed throughout the company, serving in numerous supervisory and management positions, and comes to TVMDL from her previous position of animal well-being and compliance manager.
In her previous role, Rosario oversaw animal welfare for the live production side of Miller Poultry. She was responsible for ensuring all farms were following safety and animal welfare protocols, establishing and implementing internal audits, and assisting with National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) audits for Indiana and Michigan, among other duties.
At TVMDL, Rosario will be responsible for supervising all Texas NPIP and Pullorum-Typhoid Act activities. She will also be charged with coordinating TVMDL’s poultry programs at the agency’s College Station, Center, and Gonzales laboratories.
