On October 16, the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory’s (TVMDL) College Station laboratory hosted attendees of the 2018 National Extension Disaster Education Network’s (EDEN) annual meeting. This year’s event is hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and runs from October 16-19 at Texas A&M University. Professionals from disaster-related entities across the nation are meeting in College Station to listen to experts in crisis-management, coordination, and disaster simulation.
Attendees toured TVMDL on the first day of the conference. TVMDL Director Dr. Bruce Akey welcomed attendees and after a brief presentation led them on a tour of the laboratory. Veterinary Diagnosticians Dr. Terry Hensley and Dr. Guy Sheppard led groups, as well.
The Texas Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) is a collaborative educational network aims to educate Texas AgriLife Extension agents and Texas citizens by providing resources on natural and man-made disasters.
