TVMDL now offers a qPCR panel to assist with the diagnosis of feline upper respiratory infections. This test will aid in detection of pathogens commonly attributed to respiratory disease in felines: Bordetella bronchiseptica (BB), Feline herpesvirus (FHV), Feline calicivirus (FCV), influenza A (Flu A), Chlamydophila spp., and Mycoplasma spp. by PCR.
TEST: Feline Upper Respiratory qPCR Panel
SPECIMEN: One or more of the following: Conjunctival swab and/or pharyngeal swabs, or 1.0 g fresh respiratory tissues. Multiple swabs can be submitted and pooled for testing.
TURNAROUND: Performed in College Station, Tuesday-Friday with results in 2-4 business days.
